From the North and West: The initial target is Fermoy just off the M8 Motorway and about 20 miles from Cork. From Fermoy you take the R666 heading eastwards for about 10 miles until you arrive in Ballyduff. The R666 departs Fermoy just opposite the Park which is on the northern side of the bridge over the Blackwater. The road follows the course of the river eastwards along the valley and is a little twisty here and there.
From the East: Initial target here is Lismore, 15 miles east of Dungarvan along the N72. Once in Lismore, take the R666 westwards for 6 miles before reaching Ballyduff. To access the R666, you turn right off the N72 just before you cross the bridge in Lismore and with Lismore Castle across the river from you.
Important: If using Sat Nav, be careful when inputting. There are at least three Ballyduffs in County Waterford. In particular, there is a village called Ballyduff about five miles from Waterford City. This is not us! Coordinates 52° 08' 51" N, 8° 03' 06" W will get you pretty near the correct Ballyduff!
