Competition for the qualifying places is certainly hotting up after the weekend's results. In the Open Section, early pace-setters Lurig Drama Group from Cushendall are now certainly through but with significant surges also made by the home group,Ballyduff and Rasper Players from Wexford who both picked up a brace of victories over the weekend. Prosperous Drama Group is the only other group with two wins and these four groups lead the charge for the six available qualifying spots. In the Confined Section, the weekend's results also made significant changes to the leaderboard. Here also, there are four groups with two victories - Gunpowder Productions and Coachford (both from Cork), Masquerade Drama Group from Arklow and Breffni Players from Carrick-on-Shannon. However, competition is such in this section that none of these is yet guaranteed of qualifying for the five available spots. Roll on next weekend's results!!
